A New York Mets fan had to be removed from his seat at the team’s stadium after fellow Major League Baseball fans started throwing $1 hot dogs at him.
The flurry of cheap “dogs” began in the ninth inning of the Major League Baseball game against the Chicago Cubs, over what is known as the hot dog.
Several videos have been shared online of a man wearing a hot dog hat and a t-shirt with his list of hot dogs and beers consumed.
He reportedly managed to eat nine meaty snacks and drink 10 beers before the situation escalated and security showed up.
Bystanders could hear boos from the officials as they led him away.
Fans at Citi Field were only supposed to be allowed four hot dogs on Tuesday, but it appears the man took the challenge to go way beyond that, resulting in wieners being thrown his way.
The video showed sausages flying through the air, with one attendee saying “at least 100 dogs” were thrown around the section the man was sitting in.
Another called him “#LocalLegend” while sharing the footage, while another video showed him getting up and encouraging others to send him hot dogs.
Citi Field sold 44,269 hot dogs to a crowd of 22,880 on Tuesday night.
After being ejected from his seat, the fan was spotted on the New York subway heading back home to Westchester.
“Bad day to be glizzy,” read his shirt, referring to the slang term for a hot dog.
As for the game, the Mets beat the Chicago Cubs 4-2.
