Tennessee basketball rolls in March Madness opener vs St Peter’s, will face Texas.
HARLOTTE, NC Any notion that Saint Peter’s will experience March magic in March Madness was swiftly dashed by Tennessee basketball on Thursday.

The tone was established against St. Peter’s by Jonas Aidoo.
In the opening three and a half minutes against the Peacocks, Aidoo scored seven points and dunks. From the beginning, the junior forward was involved. In transition, he rolled to the basket, posted up hard, and started to sprint. When Aidoo plays at his best, he still makes a huge impact for Tennessee. This play was a perfect example of his abilities.
Elite Zakai Zeigler was in charge of Tennessee’s offensive.
For UT’s second basket, Zeigler lobbed Aidoo for a slam before getting Aidoo to post up for another.
Zeigler had one of those games where his offensive dominance over the Peacocks was complete. He was just as successful shooting as he was distributing the ball. In the first half, he also lined up defensively with his brother Armoni on a possession. From one corner to the next and all the way to the victory, he followed Zeigler of the Peacocks.
Tennessee had an outstanding defensive performance.
Halfway through the half, Saint Peter’s had scored ten points. In the last seconds before halftime, it scored a 3-pointer to bring the score to 20 points.
