UN email leaked, offering suggestions for US 1 demonstrations against Israel on Tax Day

UN email leaked, offering suggestions for US demonstrations against Israel on Tax Day.

The U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) published a list of “5 Ways to Take Action for Tax Day” in an April 11 edition of its NGO Action News, which updates readers about global civil society organizations “relevant to the Palestine issue.”

The list contained guidelines on how demonstrators may “disrupt for a free Palestine” if they did not “want [their] tax dollars to fund genocide.”

The second item on USCPR’s list was a URL pointing demonstrators toward a “coordinated multi-city economic blockade to free Palestine,” an initiative that, according to organizers, is “not affiliated with USCPR.”

By essentially “blocking the arteries of capitalism and jamming the wheels of production,” blockade organizers A15 describe their efforts to “identify and blockade major choke points in the economy, focusing on points of production and circulation with the aim of causing the most economic impact” on the destination page.

The director of the Touro University Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust and president of Human Rights Voices, Anne Bayefsky, said that “the U.N. has been caught red-handed aiding and abetting pro-Hamas anarchists in American cities and streets” by “distributing a newsletter, in multiple languages and to a worldwide network, that contains links to radical anti-American and anti-Israel agitators, their agendas and plans.”

blockades on April 15 when anti-Israel demonstrators blocked traffic on the I-5 in Eugene, Oregon, at Washington’s Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, and California’s Golden Gate Bridge. Events also happened in front of the New York Stock Exchange, City Hall in Philadelphia, the Valero headquarters in San Antonio, Los Angeles, Oakland, Tampa, and Miami.

Police in Detroit said protesting cars “ignored multiple traffic control signals,” resulting in “traffic obstructions” and “nearly caus[ed] accidents” during an attempted traffic disruption. Numerous people across were taken into custody throughout the day’s events.

Disclaimer: Links to third-party websites “are not under the control of the United Nations and the United Nations is not responsible for the content of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site.” This is stated on the UN’s NGO Action News website.

The U.N. disclaimer, according to Bayefsky, “is totally bogus.” She asserts that “it is U.N. staff who produce summaries of activist plans,” as well as “the inclusion of any announcement or link to a third party must receive prior approval from the U.N.”

Fox News Digital inquired about whether U.N. employees approve of things inside and write summaries for NGO Action News from Ambassador Cheikh Niang of Senegal, the chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. He didn’t answer right away.

In addition to calling President Biden “Genocide Joe,” the USCPR’s protest handbook makes the outrageous claims that “Israel is mass murdering Palestinian families with [U.S.] tax dollars.” NGO Action News summarizes USCPR’s messaging by citing the organization’s “urged the public to pressure for the end of U.S. military funding to Israel’s massive violence,” drawing on the more measured tones included in its guide for action.

The spokesperson for Secretary-General António Guterres of the United Nations, Stéphane Dujarric, stated that “the secretary-general does not have the legal authority to label an event as ‘genocide.'” A competent court must make that decision for the United Nations.”

The International Court of Justice did not declare that Israel had committed genocide in its preliminary verdict on January 26. Instead, it asked Israel to permit Gazans to receive humanitarian supplies and make an effort to aid the Palestinian people.

In response to a question about the secretary-general’s endorsement of NGO Action News’ recommendation that protesters use civil disobedience in an official U.N. publication, Dujarric said that NGO Action News “is compiled in accordance with a mandate conferred by the member states of the U.N. General Assembly” and “does not fall under the authority or direction of the Secretary-General.”

Given that this organization is located in New York City, Bayefsky stated that “you have all this anarchy on the streets of the U.S.,” which “ought to be a major wake-up call for American lawmakers and the criminal justice system.” It serves as a startling reminder of the United Nations’ long history of prejudice toward Israel and Jews, as well as its ferocious effort since October 7 to deny Israel its legitimate right to self-defense.”

Antisemitic events increased by 140% between 2022 and 2023, according to the Anti-Defamation League’s annual Audit of Antisemitic events, which was issued on April 16. Assaults increased by 45%, vandalism increased by 69%, and harassment increased by 184%. Following October 7, the ADL said that it had “observed explicitly antisemitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric at 1,352 anti-Israel rallies across the United States”.

“The Secretary-General has publicly, and repeatedly, raised his voice against what he believes is the rise of antisemitism in many of our societies, whether that be in Europe, North America, and other parts of the world,” Dujarric said in response to a question about whether he acknowledged that anti-Israel protests are among the causes of the rise in antisemitic incidents in the U.S. following 10.

“In addition, the secretary-general has also stated publicly that those that call for the destruction of the state of Israel is a form of modern antisemitism.”

Regarding Guterres’ handling of Israel, the ambassador of the United Nations and the foreign minister of Israel have both demanded that he step down.
